Privacy on the Home Tutoring web site (the "Site") is of great importance to us. When you register for Home Tutoring Online, you provide details, which may, depending on whether you are tutor or tutee, include your email address, your gender, nationality, and education background ("Registration Information"). They are available to you, and capable of being corrected or updated, through the "My Profile" page.
Third Party Advertising
Home Tutoring Online reserves the right to use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Websites in order to provide advertisements on this site and other sites about goods and services that may be of interest to you.
Log Files
Home Tutoring maintains log files of the traffic that visits our site. We do not link any information gathered in these log files to personally identifying information. Log files are used to manage traffic loads and information technology requirements for providing reliable service. Information collected includes IP addresses and browser types.
Access to Personally Identifiable Information
If your personally identifiable information or email address changes, or if you no longer wish to be a Member of the Home Tutoring Service, you may correct, update, delete or deactivate your Membership through the “Edit my Profile” option found on the “My Profile” page when logged on to the Site.

Home Tutoring Online may send newsletters about new features of interest, as well as need to know matters, to members no more than roughly once a month. You may opt out of these updates and change your privacy preferences at any time, by contacting us on the contact page
Sharing and use of information
The over-riding principles we apply are these:
We, and (where relevant) our credit card processing agents, will not supply your personal data to a third party for commercial exploitation except as consented to by you in accordance with prevailing law.
We do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information, unless required by law or for the protection of your Membership.
Tutor’s personal data as entered by the tutor’s themselves, excluding address and contact details, will be available for perusal by prospective tutees only. Tutee’s personal details will not be available for public perusal, and only their contact details- email address and/or telephone number will be sent to the Tutor upon a tuition enquiry.
Un-renewed Memberships.
If you register for Home Tutoring, and you receive a renewal email (before the start of each academic year), but fail to renew your Membership then we may contact you via email periodically at your registered email address to notify you of the invalid status. Should you fail to respond to these notifications then we may send you one final notice before the un-validated Membership is removed.
Advertising
The Site may include interactive advertising for other businesses. We may use, and provide to third parties, anonymous demographic data provided by Members to target this advertising more appropriately.
Telephone numbers
You must enter a contact telephone number in your Personal Details. This number is for internal use only, for future or current services such as SMS, or for tutor-tutee contact. Your number will never be disclosed to any third party without your prior consent. Should we introduce an additional service which utilises telephone numbers, you will be given the option to agree to this, as we believe it should be your choice what services you receive.
Credit Card information
There has been a lot of publicity about Credit Card security on the Internet and we ensure that all financial data is entered on a secure webpage. Members’ credit or debit card information is encrypted and stored securely.
Changes in Home Tutoring Online’s business
If all of the assets which Home Tutoring Online uses to operate its business (or substantially all of them) are acquired by a third party, we may transfer personal data we then hold to that party.
Place of processing
The personal information held by us is held on and processed by computers situated in the United Kingdom or France.
Security
We have security measures in place to protect our customer database and access to this database is restricted internally to those employees who need access to perform their job function. However, it remains each Member’s responsibility:

- To ensure against use by anyone else of the Site through the machine that the Member uses while they are logged on to the Site;
- To log off or exit from the Site when not using it; and
